One of the services available at Net-Maven.com is mapping your custom web address to an existing Google Site. About a week ago I had the opportunity to work on a domain setup for the Glouchester High football team.
Randy is one of the team's coaches and he's got a really nice Google Site set up to share information about the Glouchester Dukes roster, schedules, results, pictures, and announcements. But he was having problems getting it mapped to the site he had created for the team.
"You are amazing! Thank you for your persistence. Google Sites should have a link directly to Net Maven. I grew frustrated at attempting to map my newly purchased domain name to my newly created website. I tried following detailed instructions from forums and other sites without success. Net Maven came to the rescue. Cami was absolutely wonderful to deal with. She kept me informed during the process and solved my issues. Thank you and I will most certainly recommend your services to my friends. Sincerely, Randy Applegate - Gloucester, Virginia"
It took me a few evenings and searching through help forums to figure out what was wrong. The domain registrar NameCheap.com was rather easy to set up but something was causing problems on the Google side. It ended up being an old Google Apps account linked to www.dukesfootball.com that somebody else had created and did not close after the domain name expired. When Randy came along and purchased the domain, he had no knowledge of this old account. I was able to unlock it by proving his ownership to the domain and removing the offending entry.
Let me say that I am honored that I could be of assistance and that Randy chose me to help complete his setup. He was thoughtful and patient as I ran into a more complicated situation than I first realized. The challenge resulted in some really good experience for me as well as a happy customer!
